Roles in the board game industry and the steps involved in making a game
Jamey Stegmaier wrote an open letter to journalists who recently learned about the popularity of board games that I thought was quite helpful and comprehensive.
You can read the article here.
For those who have been playing and/or designing games for some time, it is common knowledge that board games have seen an immense increase in popularity in recent decades, through Kickstarter and a growing hobby in general. But many journalists are just discovering this now.
So, Jamey wrote a great article to give them some solid background on the industry in order to help them to understand it much better.
He even outlined all the roles that different people play, from designer to publisher to manufacturer to distributor and everyone in between. I highly recommend reading this article if you have any questions at all about who does what and how games go from an idea to a physical product for the world to enjoy.
What role did you learn something new about today?
