The Board Game Design Course

Where great games begin

Are You a Fan of Co-operative Board Games?

I was thinking the other day about how board games have changed over the years.  I mean when I was a kid, we had a lot of really cut-throat winner-take-all games like Monopoly, Battleship, and Risk.

These were fiercely competitive games where the goal was to completely wipe your opponents out, financially or right off the face of the Earth!

Now there are so many options when it comes to games.  One type I’ve really taken to is co-operative games.  Some of my favourites are Pandemic, Forbidden Island, and Forbidden Desert (not to be confused with forbidden desserts, which are altogether different, but also awesome!).

I happened upon this list of top 5 co-op games today.  Aside from Pandemic, I haven’t played any of these others.  My good friend Matthew has Sentinels of the Multiverse and I know he’s a big fan.

What are your favourite co-operative games?  I’d love to try some new ones.  🙂
