A Gift for Game Designers
Just a quick message this week and a bit of a gift for all game designers today. 🙂
A new organization has formed and will be launching early next year with the goal of helping game designers, particularly when working with publishers. They are the Tabletop Game Designers Association and they plan to provide services such as contract review and royalty resolution support, along with discounts for designers for other events and services.
I interviewed Geoff Engelstein (Ludology podcast, Space Cadets), who is one of the founding members along with Elizabeth Hargrave (Wingspan) and Sen-Foong Lim (Akrotiri) about the association for the upcoming Board Game Design Summit 2024 and learned a lot about this. You can hear the whole interview later in February. But for now, I know this is going to be a game changer (no pun intended) for board game designers in the future.
I’m excited to see them put this together, as many game designers have expressed an interest in something like this for several years.
I highly recommend you check out their website here and see what they’re all about. You can sign up to be notified when they launch and get in on founding member prices. No commitment needed at this time.
Please enjoy this great gift to designers and have yourself an amazing holiday filled with family, friends, and of course, board games. 🙂
